There is no doubt that we are living in a time of great social unrest. It is evident through Social Media, World News, and other Platforms, that the world is very divided on so many issues, racism being a major area of division. As the body of Christ, we must however stand united. We cannot stand for righteousness while being divided on issues such as racism, social injustices or any other issues that contradict what the word of God says. “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that house will not be able to stand. And if Satan has risen up against himself and is divided, he cannot stand but his end has come.” (Mark 3: 25-26 NKJV)
Christians all over the world are crying out to God for justice, for an end to racism, social unrest and healing for our land. (2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV) says “if my people who are called by my name humble themselves, pray, seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” God has given us the power through prayer and repentance to be able to manifest the needed change that our land so desperately needs in areas of racism; social unrest and all injustices but he calls for us to be unified. We must remove any and all forms of wickedness from our midst. Through this powerful act of prayer and repentance we can cry out to God with a triumphant voice and bring healing, restoration and deliverance to our land. However, if we stand divided, we leave an open door, a legal ground, and way in, for the enemy to continue to bring accusations against us.
“The Courts of Heaven” by Robert Henderson, gives a great illustration of the effects that division can have in the body of Christ. “The Ecclesia/Church is God’ legislative, governmental and judicial people and they have been registered and authorized to operate within the court system of Heaven. When the Church is functioning where it is meant to, we have the authority to get verdicts from the court against powers of darkness.” This is where repentance and unity truly play a factor in bringing forth results, taking back the ground that the enemy has taken. God has revealed to the church greater knowledge and revelation of his word over the past decade to set us up to win the battles we face individually and in our world.
Let’s be committed to praying for the church universal, that we will stand united. Pray that the church will walk by faith and not by sight. Pray that where forgiveness and repentance need to take place, all hearts will be open and submitted to God so that He can have his way and the kingdom of God will continue to advance like never before!
